village-capture (May-2025)

Koben. A quiet and peaceful village. It was calm and soothing, as villagers did their duties, from picking berries, to forging weapons, to even being a teacher for the local school, everyone had a role. Their living conditions weren’t great, and winters get especially bad for them, however they endured, and lived thriving lives for years, ever since the collapse.

One day, berry pickers notice something. The close village of Macery was on fire. Traders passing close by to the village claim they saw bugs crawling around, with some being on peoples heads. They were constructing buildings, but not the normal buildings you see in everyday villages. 2 days later, 11 armed people walk in.

The village looked on in confusion. These didn’t look like traders or people from a different village. There were even giant bugs with them, that scared the children. The chief ordered them to leave after his own son got scared. They all looked at each other, then nodded. One of them pulled out a horn, and blew on it. A little after, a small bug came crawling up to a stable owner. It just stared at him, not doing anything. The villager was getting freaked out, and tried stepping away, then… the bug leaped.

It jumped onto his head, covering his eyes. The villager began screaming in pain, as more of them showed up. They all charged. Villagers scrambled back into their homes. The human ones began to burn the buildings, as the screams of hundreds of innocent lives echoed through the village. In the chiefs home, a couple of bugs broke in. The chief grabbed his sword and lunged first. He slashed, with more and more bugs coming it, but it was useless. A bug landed on his head. His wife and son had to watch in horror as the chief screamed in agony and collapsed to the floor.

1 day later, all the villagers rise. Now corrupted by the bugs, they begin constructing a new city. Pain, feelings and all traces of the villager are gone, and now all they want is to follow their bug overlords.
