The smartest and most manipulative Lirepacci is usually chosen by the Lirepacci senate to rule. But the common Imperius folk have had it with the fancy Lirepacci and the luxuries they can't have. Angry that another non-military leader had been chosen, a group of assassins sent by the secretive Cloaks launched an attack on the leader while he was announcing the news to his fellow compatriots.

Sometimes, a tribe as powerful as the great Imperia's greatest enemy isn't the enemy at their borders. It's themselves.
