Some members of the aquarion ventured deeper then the rest, all the way to the midnight zone. They evolved special illucium to help navigate and hunt in the dark, elongated fingers with membrane between them to swim faster and dilated pupils so that more light can enter their eyes. These drowned ones were no threat to other polytopian tribes, as they could no longer survive on land. That is, until the ancient god, Dagon, blessed them with the ability to return to the surface, with the goal of total domination.
